Lip Contour

What is it?

First and foremost, this IS a permanent makeup procedure. Lip contour is a type of cosmetic tattoo that semi-permanently enhances lip color and shape by depositing colored ink into the lips with a mechanical needle.

Who can get it?

Really anyone.. So long as they are over the age of 18! Whether you reshape the lines of your lips or just want to improve the definition, lip contour is the way to go. Some other ways it can help are 24/7 fabulousness, restoration of your natural lip color, repair of any uneven parts, defined cupids bow, and a 24/7 pout without fillers. Like other feature of your face, your lips are sooo important. They frame your smile! Think about what are the first things you look at in a person.

What’s the process like?

A full consultation is always carried out before we start the actual tattoo. A consultation is essential to help you figure out what you want and to help us get you there. During that consultation we will discuss exactly what you want to achieve including shape and color, taking into account your natural coloring. We’ll do our best to provide expert advice regarding what suits you best. After, we will pre-draw the agreed upon look and make sure the you like what you see! We don’t begin the tattooing until you are totally happy with the pre-drawing.

Ultimately, this procedure will last anywhere from 2-5 years! After that, it’ll fade naturally. We highly recommend a color boost if you want it to last longer.

Lip Correction ( Lip Neutralization)

This is a specialized semi-permanent treatment for clients with dark toned lips in which we color correct and neutralize the darkness in the lips. This technique involves applying concentrated organic pigments on areas where the lip is darker. Numbing cream is used in the treatment to ensure that there is none to minimal pain.

Each client’s skin will respond differently, both in the length of time it takes to heal, and the number of sessions needed for your desired results and color retention. Your lips may be swollen after getting your lip tattoo, you may ice them to bring down the swelling. Never apply ice directly. Put ice into a ziplock bag and cover with a paper towel.

  • Be careful as you put on your shirt or other garments over your face that you don’t wipe your new tattoo accidentally.
  • In case of food, it may be challenging the first day. Try to eat with a spoon or fork and avoid eating messy foods that will require you to wipe your mouth or lick your lips.
  • Makeup on the lips must be avoided for a week to avoid an infection, loss of color or damage to your new lip tattoo.
  • Avoid biting, licking and touching your lips as much as possible.
  • Keep lips moist for a week by using either Vaseline or Aquaphor. Apply several times a day to avoid dry, cracked lips.
  • Avoid direct sunlight to your lips as much as possible. Sunlight will disrupt the healing process and will cause the lip tattoo to fade much quicker. Even after the lip tattoo has healed, be consistent with applying sunscreen to prolong your new lip tattoo.
